Rigging chain slings are grade 80 heat-treated alloy chains for attaching to steel beams or purloins in rigging projects. These chain slings go over the steel beam and are joined by one shackle at the end links. Design factor is 10:1. Our rigging chain slings are available in three standard sizes and also made in customized lengths. Rigging chain sling kits are also provided with higher load capacities using heavier chain.

Usage

Organization of Chain Sling Maintenance

• A regular Chain Sling Maintenance system should be set up which will make certain individuals fully responsible. The result will be properly cared for slings, which will receive regular periodic inspections, causing unsafe slings to be removed from service.

Cleaning

Chain Sling should be cleaned regularly as grit and dirt cause wear at link bearing point.

Storage

Before prolonged storage, Chain Slings should be oiled and hung in a clean, dry place. They should never be placed on the floor as they are subject to damaging
abuse.

Annealing

Never anneal. Alloy chain is heat treated to provide high strength and long wear and annealing will damage the effects of the heat treatment.

Size

This is specified by the size of the material from which the chain is made, determined by working load limit required.

Reach

This is the length, including attachments, measured from bearing point to bearing point (pull to pull).

Type
Select and specify proper type of sling from list mentioned below:

Attachments

• Unless otherwise specified standard master links and hooks as given herein will be used. When other than standard master links and hooks are required, a complete description or drawing of the requested substitute should be given. All such chain slings are tagged with the above information for easy visual inspection. They are also tagged with a serial number for tracking.
